UK Standard Visitor
Check your UK Standard Visitor file before the caseworker does
The UK publishes no list of documents for this route. It publishes things you must be able to show — that you will leave at the end of your visit, that you can pay your own way, that what you are coming to do is permitted. That makes a UK file harder to check than most, and this page is honest about how much of it is the caseworker's judgement rather than arithmetic.

What this checks, and what it cannot
Two kinds of finding. Verified findings are decided by arithmetic against the Visa Code — passport validity, the required document categories, the EUR 30 000 insurance minimum, whether your documents name the same person. Assessments are a judgement about what your file does not yet show, each tied to a published refusal ground. Neither predicts the decision: a visa is discretionary and nobody can promise you one.
For UK Standard Visitor that is 5 checks decided by arithmetic against UK Home Office (UK Visas and Immigration), and 5 assessments of what your file does not yet show.
Common questions
- What does this actually check?
- Your passport against what gov.uk states — valid for the whole of your stay — whether your file shows the purpose of your visit, funds to cover it, a return or onward journey, and reasons to leave at the end, and whether your documents all name the same person.
- Will it tell me if I will get the visa?
- No. More of the UK decision is discretionary than for most routes: Appendix V V 4.2 asks a caseworker to be satisfied you are a genuine visitor, which is a judgement about you and not a checklist. Nobody can promise you that outcome. This checks what can be checked and names what your file does not yet show.
- Does the UK publish a document checklist?
- No, and that is the honest answer rather than a gap in this tool. gov.uk lists what you must be able to show, not what to upload. So nothing here is reported as a missing mandatory document — the gaps are things a caseworker would expect your file to evidence, and you may cover them in ways this check does not anticipate.
- What happens to my passport scan?

- Where do the rules come from?
- gov.uk's Standard Visitor guidance and Appendix V of the Immigration Rules. Every finding names what it comes from and quotes it, so you can check the claim rather than trust it. Read on 2026-09-04.
