Read This First: Migraciones Takes the Photo

The Peruvian electronic passport is issued by the Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones. The application is in person, and the photo is taken at the office during your appointment. You do not need to bring a printed or digital photo for a passport applied for in Peru.

  • Bring your valid DNI and the payment receipt. No forms, photocopies or printed photos.
  • The holder must attend in person, because the photo and biometrics are captured there.

What Is Checked When the Photo Is Taken

The photo follows international biometric identification standards, so the usual conditions apply on the day.

  • No large glasses or dark lenses.
  • No cosmetic contact lenses.
  • Nothing covering the head.
  • No facial piercings.
  • Neutral expression, looking straight at the camera.

If You Are Asked for a Printed Photo

Where a printed photo is requested, the format on record is 35mm wide × 43mm high with a plain white background. The checker measures a photo against that format so you can see the crop before printing.
