The Swedish Police (Polismyndigheten) issue Swedish passports and national ID cards using the international ICAO 35×45mm photo standard. Photos are normally captured at a passport application appointment (passansökan) at a police station.
- Size: 35×45mm (413×531px at 300 DPI) — ICAO biometric standard.
- Background: plain light grey or white. No patterns or coloured backgrounds.
- Head height: roughly 70–80% of the image height (chin to crown).
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, eyes open looking at the camera.
- No glasses, no tinted lenses.
- Religious head coverings accepted — face fully visible.
- Photo must be taken within the last 6 months.

Why We Do Not Make This Photo
The Embassy of Sweden's passport photo sheet says photos must not be manipulated, for example by removing spots or softening lines or shadows, and that mirror images cannot be used. Replacing the background is how an online photo maker works, so we do not offer one for Swedish passports.
