The Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) of the Republic of China issues Taiwanese passports using a 35×45mm photo (commonly called "2 inch" 兩吋 in Taiwanese photo studios). The head height requirement is stricter than most ICAO standards.
- Size: 35×45mm (413×531px at 300 DPI) — referred to as 2 inch (兩吋) locally.
- Background: plain white. No patterns or colour gradients.
- Head height: 32–36mm chin to crown (71–80% of image height).
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, eyes open and looking at the camera.
- No glasses, no tinted lenses.
- Photo must be taken within the last 6 months.
- Hair must not cover the eyes, eyebrows, or face outline.
