Official Pakistan Passport Photo Dimensions & Requirements (35x45mm)

These are the photo requirements the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGIP) publishes for the online passport application.

  • Dimensions: 35mm wide × 45mm high.
  • Background: Plain white only.
  • Head size: At least 29mm and no more than 34mm on the 45mm photo (64–76% of the height).
  • Expression: Neutral, mouth closed, eyes open, facing the camera.
  • Recency: Not more than 6 months old.
  • Nothing covering the face; eyes not hidden by sunglasses, tinted glasses, frames or hair.
  • No shadows and no red eye.
  • File: up to 5MB.

Why We Do Not Make This Photo

The DGIP photo page says you cannot use photos that have been cut down from larger pictures, and that pictures must not be edited in other software such as Photoshop. Cropping a photo and replacing its background is how an online photo maker works, so we do not offer one for the Pakistan passport.

  • Have the photo taken professionally at the right size, against a plain white background.
  • The DGIP site has its own photograph verification tool; use it before you apply.

Real Pakistan Passport Rejection Data

31.3% of Pakistan Passport photos were rejected on first submission, based on 16 checks run through VisaPhotoCheck.

Most common reasons a rejected photo failed

  • Head pose or angle40%
  • sharpness40%
  • Accessories (glasses, hats, headphones)20%
  • Lighting or shadows20%

Each figure is the share of rejected Pakistan Passport photos that failed that specific check. A single rejection often fails more than one check, so these do not add up to 100%.

Based on VisaPhotoCheck's own Pakistan Passport submissions — this reflects our users, not an official or industry-wide rejection rate.

How Pakistan Passport compares to similar documents

Every figure below is read from the same rule profiles this checker validates against, so it says what actually differs rather than what sounds different.

The same specification

A photo that passes for Pakistan Passport meets the same measurable requirements as Brazil Visa and UK BRP (Biometric Residence Permit). Size, head height and background are identical; check each portal's own file-size limit before uploading.
