A South Korean visa takes one colour photo of 35×45mm. The Korea Visa Portal asks for a photograph in natural colour at that size, and the visa application form (Form No. 17) asks for a passport photo of 35×45mm, taken within the last 6 months, full face without a hat, front view against a white or off-white background.

- Korean embassies add: neutral expression, both eyes open, directly facing the camera.
- Head size: the visa sources do not give one. The form asks for a passport photo, and Korea's passport standard puts the head at 32–36mm from crown to chin (71–80% of the height).
Paper Photo or Upload
How you hand in the photo depends on where you apply. An application at an embassy or consulate takes a printed photo on the form. An application or e-Form filled in on the Korea Visa Portal takes the same photo as a digital file; the embassy in Finland says that a photo uploaded in the e-Form does not have to be handed in on paper as well.
- Printed photo: on photo-quality paper. The embassy in Finland asks applicants not to print it themselves.
- Digital photo: the portal describes it by its print size, 35×45mm, in natural colour. Its application guide gives no pixel size and no file limit.
- Each mission can set its own details, and the embassy in Finland notes that accepting a photo is at the discretion of the embassy where you apply. Check the visa page of the mission that handles your application.
Visa Photo vs K-ETA Photo
These are two different documents. K-ETA is the online travel authorisation for visa-free visitors and takes a JPG upload; a visa takes the 35×45mm photo above. A square K-ETA file is not a visa photo.

Two things in it are ours, not Korea's. The visa sources publish no head size, so we use the 32–36mm of Korea's passport standard. They publish no pixel size or file limit either, so the file is 35×45mm at 300 DPI and stays under 500KB.
