The DS-160 form uses the same digital photo standards required for most U.S. nonimmigrant visa applications. The file must be a recent color JPEG with a plain white or off-white background.
- Minimum size: 600x600 pixels; maximum: 1200x1200 pixels.
- File format: JPEG only, under 240 KB.
- Head size: 50% to 69% of the total image height.
- Glasses: not allowed.
- Expression: neutral expression with mouth closed is safest.
